Welcome to the Archery Wild Challenge, March 12, 2023. Following on from the previous month’s Archery Wild Trail, this Tournament event uses the original target set ups, but features shorter distances and can be scored. Competitors enter divisions similar to the successful Kiwi 3D format, including categories for rangefinders and rangefinding sights. There is also a Hunter category which has no restriction on gear and will not be scored; this is the place for hunters who enjoyed the Trail in February and would like to shoot it again.
Two courses, one will have marked distances, and we are bringing back some of the spectacular Bowhunter Open format that Pine Ridge was well known for in the past. Remember these: Hang-fire, Doe – Buck, the Moving Target, Tightshot, the Mob & Herd, Running, The Blind, Shoot-it-again, the Treestand, Stalker, Choice and….. the Steel Pig!
Maximum distances are 25 yards for cubs, 35’ for juniors & stringbows and 60’ for seniors, veterans, compounds and rangefinders. Two arrow maximum, your first hit scores. Except for funky scoring on some of the technical shots. No crossbows or broadheads permitted.
Bringing back the Kiwi 3D and Bowhunter Open formats will see the return of the Pine Ridge Spot Prize Table worth thousands of dollars, plus certificates for placegetters.
